About

A map for the day you actually have

DayHop is for the Saturday morning question: where can we take the children that is genuinely fun, honestly nearby, and not a mystery about dogs or toddler queues.

What we show

Theme parks, water parks, zoos and aquariums, museums and science centres, parks and playgrounds, farms, indoor play and historic sites. Each card carries an age fit, a pet note, a typical visit length, a price band, a review and a link to the official website whenever we have one.

Within an hour

We geocode your address, then keep places whose estimated drive is about 70 minutes or less. The estimate uses map distance with a road-winding factor — not live traffic — so a Friday rush hour can still surprise you. Always glance at the venue site before you lock the car.

Where the data comes from

Editor-reviewed highlights cover well-known UK, Irish, European and US family attractions. We also pull nearby named places from OpenStreetMap so a search in a town we have not written up still finds real parks, museums and zoos. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Pets and ages

Pet-friendly means a typical family dog on a lead is welcome in at least part of the site. Assistance dogs are the usual exception everywhere else. Age groups are toddlers (0–4), little kids (5–8), tweens (9–12) and teens (13–16). Tick the ages in your household and we sort for them first.
